The XXIV international theater festival of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, one of the oldest of its kind, will be held from November 6 to 13, 2020 in the Novgorod region. Performances based on the works of the great writer in various interpretations will be presented to the audience. Screenings will take place on stage in Veliky Novgorod, as well as in Staraya Russa, including The Museum of the novel "the Brothers Karamazov".
The festival poster includes 16 performances, which will be presented by 14 groups from Sukhum (Republic of Abkhazia), Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm, Pskov, Vladimir, Smolensk and Belgorod. These are not only dramatic productions, but also modern dance and a puppet theater performance presented for the first time in the program.
Especially for the festival, a conceptual team of actors and musicians from St. Petersburg is preparing a project that combines literary reading, experimental improvisational music performed live and the technique of the Japanese Buto theater.
